Sudden failures of industrial equipment are one of the major challenges in manufacturing and process industries, which have consequences such as reduced productivity, increased repair costs, and production line downtime. This research presents a comprehensive framework for predicting industrial equipment failures by integrating the Internet of Things (IoT) and artificial intelligence. In the proposed method, sensors connected to industrial networks collect vibration, temperature, pressure, and flow data in real time and send them to cloud or edge systems. Then, machine learning algorithms, including random forest, support vector machine, and deep neural networks, are trained on historical and real-time data and identify failure warning patterns. The implementation results on real data of a manufacturing unit show that the proposed LSTM-CNN hybrid model is able to detect early signs of failure up to 72 hours before occurrence with an accuracy of more than 95%, which is a significant improvement in reducing downtime and maintenance costs compared to traditional methods based on periodic inspection. This approach is considered an effective step in realizing predictive maintenance and Industry 4.0.
